Deztroyer's Blog!

Welcome to my world.

Some updates and recommendations

Firstly, congratulations to my friend on transferring to his own domain, http://www.davieslim.com. I highly recommend his blog for lots of drama recommendations, in fact most of the ones he recommend I watch myself too, and I also highly agree they are very watchable.

And I would also like to recommend the anime to watch for the season that started recently around a month ago, well at least it’s pretty much what I’m watching:

  • Bakemonogatari
  • Canaan
  • Needless
  • Umineko no naku koro ni

I might edit the post later with some links to their synopses, but you can always visit a site like anidb and search the name to get a quick synopsis of the anime itself, just don’t believe in their ratings, they never apply until you try the anime yourself.

In other news, I’ve occupied myself with Resident Evil 5 for the past week or so, it’s been fun, I’ve gotten up to 47/50 achievements, and I may post some things about it up later on. There’s also tonnes of games to look forward to as the fall season for game approaches, which I may also mention in a later post.

P.S. I am looking for someone with a camera that can record to a pretty reasonable quality, so I can post up some performances of tricks. Anyone offering to help?

New virus discovered: Gee-virus

It has come to my attention that my blog or myself has been a carrier of a communicative disease better known as the Gee-virus. It appears to be more powerful and contagious than I anticipated, and for those infected I apologise. Here are a few details:

Name: Gee-virus (GeeV)

Classifications: Member of the genus visualaudiovirus , under the kornpopviridae family

Origin: From a group known as SNSD in South Korea

Structure: Complex, believed to be in the form of a female figure.

Known genetic properties: capable of mutating it’s outer wall into extremely different forms by the use of tight and colorful walls. The virus is also known to come in 9 major different genetic forms, thus making immunization much more difficult.

Symptoms:

  • Cannot help secretly humming to the tune of the song Gee by SNSD
  • Cannot help listening to the song/watching videos of it being performed all the time
  • Cannot resist the temptation to start dancing to it secretly
  • Cannot resist the temptation to do the crab walk
  • Unusual fascination over a member of SNSD
  • Cannot resist going to watch more videos of SNSD
  • A lot more, as it is such a deadly virus, though above are the major symptoms

Cures: Currently none is known once you have been infected.

Prevention: Do not expose yourself to kornpops, or anyone who has been infected by this virus. If anyone offers to show you a video or a song, you must ask whether it is kpop or not. If you ask specifically if it is Gee, you actually increases chances of infection.

It is to my attention that I am actually a carrier of this virus and have already spread it to several readers of this blog. I also happen to be part of this conspiracy in actually making the virus contagious. I’m rather shocked as to how well I did.

GG

The latest craze in kpop, Gee by SNSD:

This one’s nicely tagged so you can figure out who is who if you find it interesting =P

The MV:

And the full dance they used to insert the dance scenes into the MV (I actually like this better):

This is seriously the madness. It’s everywhere. These girls started out with just some average singing and quite the attitude drawing quite a lot of negative attention, but here’s their comeback apparently. So who’s your favorite =P?

What have I been up to…

So now that most of my close uni friends have gone back to their home countries for the holidays, everyone’s occupied with their own things. So what have I been up to?

Catching up with anime and manga, watched the jdrama hana kimi, and I actually bothered to take out resident evil 4 and play again since I never finished it, after getting bored with dead space…extremely great atmospheres but the action got too repetitive for me. Got Prince of Persia on 360 and was pleasantly impressed by it, not as frustrating and time wasting as the previous 3d ones, and did I mention very nice graphics? Still progressing with that one though. Awaiting Gears 2 from HK as my mom and bro have just headed back.

Oh, I also got team fortress 2 as its quite cheap now, and currently it’s at a discount making it only USD$9.99 for a while. Its surprisingly more entertaining than I thought, especially since I have friends to play with, it’s actually quite fun and can get pretty epic with teamwork.

Gonna be having hot pot and gaming/mahjong at a friends place on new year’s eve, good stuff.

But biggest highlight for myself is, I’m planning to get serious back into the magic scene, and possibly using it to try to aim for a part time entertainment job at restaurants/bars? I’ll probably start training again as the new year begins. I’ve got a lot of new stuff up my sleeve.

True Astonishments.

Good morning nvidia, holidays, and more…

Got up early this morning to receive a package: the GTX260 arrived!!!

I gotta say this card is pretty good, its actually very silent when doing normal things on the computer, with the fan at 40%. But in this rather imperfect world, I found out a lot of the 200 series get a rather small buzzing noise when its on a higher load, due to certain parts on the card or something, and that it possibly goes away as you use the card more. But at least I seem to be gaming without any problems and don’t really hear it either, though I know its there when the case is open and volume is low.

And also my last paper was done on Tuesday morning. Wasn’t a bad close I suppose, it was possibly the easiest level 3 paper I’ve had so far in my opinion. Which means I’m officially on holiday!! Time to start massive cleaning operations around the house….

Finished tomb raider underworld as well. It was rather short actually, but nevertheless it was quite enjoyable for me, but I must say it was a rather buggy game, with one major bug causing me to restart my save, but that was right at the start of the game, thank goodness. Onto RA3 and DS!

IGN has released their PoP review. It seems to be looking good, and I just might get it on x360 rather than pc, seems more enjoyable on it. And might I say ubisoft on pc lately has been buggy as hell thanks to their focus on consoles nowadays.

And looks like I’ll be stocking some new magic equipment soon with special holidays sales! But probably won’t be ordering until late Dec. Maybe I should go brush up some skills to get ready. And now time to eat lunch and watch some random anime/drama/manga…..
